MSW - Social Work

The MSW in Social Work is a 36-credit program. This program can be started in the summer or fall terms, and at a pace that works best for you. Full-time students can finish in as little as two years.

To qualify for admission students must have taken an introductory statistics course: 200-level or higher, with a grade of C or better, and meet graduate admission criteria.

The application deadline for the MSW in Social Work program priority deadline is December 1st, and final deadline is January 15th. The next application cycle opens on March 16th. Additional requirements for admission to the MSW in Social Work program:

  • Upload a resume documenting your professional experience.
  • Upload a personal statement meeting the guidelines for your student status.
  • Provide contact information (name, organization, position/title, relationship, telephone and email address) for three (3) individuals that are knowledgeable about your potential to do graduate work and function successfully as a social worker. First letter should be an academic instructor (if graduated in the last five (5) years, second letter should be from an academic or professional reference (field, volunteering, and/or work), the third letter of reference can be an academic reference, a professional reference, or a personal reference (not from a family member)
  • Answer additional required questions in the online application.

Financial aid

Students completing a degree program may be eligible for financial aid in the form of grants, loans, scholarships, or employment. All of these make up a “Financial Aid Package” and may be offered singly or in various combinations. Since funds are limited, priority for aid is based on financial need and how promptly applications are filed.
